About Hertz.com Payment Method?
Hertz.com accepts various payment methods. Credit cards accepted include American Express, MasterCard, Carte Blanche, Visa, Diners Club, Discover, Hertz Charge Card, JCB, Optima Amex, and some debit cards. These cards must have available credit or funds for the estimated rental charge amount and any additional incurred charges.
For debit cards, they must be issued under VISA, MasterCard, or Discover logo and draw funds directly from the cardholder's account. At Hertz Airport locations, the renter is required to provide proof of a return travel ticket to coincide with the rental and present two valid forms of identification. At Hertz Off Airport locations, the renter must have a reservation made at least one day in advance, be at least 25 years old, present two valid forms of identification, and provide a Corporate Discount Plan (CDP) number or proof of a return travel ticket to coincide with the rental.
There are exceptions where debit cards are not accepted at the outset of a rental in areas of New York Metropolitan Tri-State, Hartford, CT, Philadelphia, PA, Boston, MA, Manchester, NH, Detroit, MI, Baltimore, MD, and Atlanta, GA. Debit cards are also not accepted on Dream Cars ® and Shelby GT-H rentals. However, debit cards are accepted for payment at the end of the rental.
Cash rentals are allowed at corporate locations in the United States, providing you present a Hertz Cash Deposit Card ID Card, or an acceptable charge card. You can qualify with your charge card or acceptable debit card at the beginning of the rental, then pay cash at upon return. Complete the Cash Deposit Card Application form to obtain a Cash Deposit ID Card.
About Hertz.com Prices and Cost?
Hertz.com offers a Best Rate Guarantee. When booking directly through the Hertz website, it's assured that no other online provider will beat their prices for a Hertz rental vehicle. If a lower rate on a Hertz car rental is found, Hertz matches it and gives an additional 10% off of that base rate. This guarantee applies to the “base rate” quoted for the vehicle, which does not include tax, fuel, surcharges or any other ancillary charges or optional extras. Only daily, weekend, and weekly rentals are available. Other rental lengths are excluded. Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of the rental by going direct to a Hertz website and booking the lowest available rate for that vehicle group. Rentals at all locations in the USA, Canada, Europe, Middle East and Africa are included, with some exclusions.
In terms of costs, Hertz charges average rates of $78 per day or $543 per week (including taxes and fees). This is almost exactly the same as the national average of $77 per day or $539 per week. So, Hertz isn’t an expensive rental car company, but cheaper rates may be found by shopping around.
There are also additional fees and charges that may apply to the rental. These include Additional Driver Fee, Additional Surcharge, Airport Concession Recovery, Airport Security Fee, Arena Cost Recovery, Busing Cost Recovery, CA Tourism Fee, Colorado Road Safety Program Fee, Concession / Commission Fee Recovery, Customer Transportation Fee, Domestic Security Fee, Eagle Roadside Rescue Fee, Energy Surcharge, and others. These fees cover various expenses including utility charges, bus fuel, oil and grease and other related costs.
Hertz.com Return Policy?
Hertz.com has a detailed return process for their rental cars. To return a vehicle at locations with Hertz e-returns, one needs to pull up to the designated Hertz drop-off location, drop off the car (leaving the keys in the cupholder), and go. The receipt is then sent via email to the email address listed on the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards profile. An additional driver, if added to the rental, may return the car. If the car is returned after the location has closed, the procedure varies by location. It's recommended to contact the Hertz location directly for this information.
There are also charges for returning the car after the return time agreed to at the time of rental. Returns of less than 30 minutes generally will not be charged extra hours. However, returns 30 minutes late or later will incur an additional charge, with late returns of 1 hour and 30 minutes resulting in a charge for an additional rental day.
As for the shipping policy, Hertz does not seem to have a traditional shipping policy as it is a car rental service. However, they do have a list of charges that might be considered similar to a shipping policy for physical goods. These include fees for additional drivers, prepayment for battery charge or fuel (Charge Purchase Option "CPO" and Fuel Purchase Option "FPO"), Loss Damage Waiver "LDW", Liability Insurance Supplement "LIS", and more. All rental charges are applied to the credit card presented at the time of rental.
Please note that this information is subject to change and it's always a good idea to check the latest on the Hertz website or contact their customer service for the most accurate information.
What is the Hertz Cash Deposit Card?
The Hertz Cash Deposit Card is a form of identification that allows customers to rent a car using cash as a deposit. It's accepted at corporate locations in the United States. To obtain this card, customers need to complete a Cash Deposit Card Application form. The application process includes a $15 non-refundable processing fee and can take up to 30 days to process. Once approved, customers can qualify for a rental with their charge card or acceptable debit card at the beginning of the rental, then pay cash upon return. It's important to note that the Hertz Cash Deposit Card is not a credit card and does not entitle the cardholder to credit privileges. Also, the cardholder must be at least 21 years of age or older (18 in Michigan and New York).
What are the benefits of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards?
The Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program offers several benefits to its members. These include:

- No point expiration as long as you have earned or redeemed points through rental activity within the previous 18 months.

These tiers offer additional benefits such as earning more points per dollar spent, access to a wider selection of rental cars, and free one-car-class upgrades as available.
